Following Powerscourt’s appointment as advisers to Bellway Homes, members of the team took a trip up to the housebuilder’s dedicated testing facility, the Future Home, to see how they are preparing for the Future Homes Standard.
Situated in the University of Salford, the award-winning Energy House 2.0 Project can replicate over 95 per cent of the world’s climatic conditions, with the ability to expose Bellway’s Future Home to temperatures as high as 40°C and low as -20°C with the recreation of wind, snow, solar radiation and other weather conditions.
By testing the building fabric and cutting-edge sustainable technologies, Bellway can future-proof its housing designs against the effects of climate change and meet the requirements of the government’s Future Homes Standard which comes into force in 2025.
As testing continues into 2024, Powerscourt will be supporting Bellway with communicating updates from the Future Home, alongside other corporate news and financial calendar events.
Powerscourt will also be helping Bellway in the political sphere, supporting the housebuilder on public affairs as it navigates the evolving policy landscape, including the Future Home Standard and upcoming general election.
